Glossary of Terms
Full Backup If you are used to using conventional backup methods (such as
tape drives), this term will be familiar to you. Typically, a
full backup simply means backing up ALL of your critical files
in one session. With BackJack, you will usually perform a full
backup only once for any given data set. An incremental backup is considered to be a partial backup because
it only backs up those files that have changed since your last
full backup. Once you have done a full backup using BackJack,
your subsequent backups of the same backup sets will be considered
incremental. It takes a lot less time to perform incremental backups
on a daily basis. Users may want to perform a manual backup instead of having regularly
scheduled (automatic) backups. This simply means that you can
go into BackJack at any time and execute a backup session immediately. |
